I took this position with Bryan Parks and Recreation to try and break out of my comfort zone and diversify my resume, but the connection that I was able to form with some of the campers will always stay with me. The pay was reasonable at $8.50 an hour, if you can stand 6 hours a day outside in the summer heat.
The best thing about participating in this internship is that I now feel much more comfortable around children. I use to feel awkward around kids and did not know how to interact with them, but in the short time that I was able to spend with the kids at camp this changed completely. Be warned though that you may want to have one of your own after participating in this internship.
